I have always struggled more with hypoglycemia (low blood sugars) than hyperglycemia (high blood sugars). I do not think I have ever had a Hemoglobin A1C higher than 6.0 (maybe 6.2). Every time I see an endocrinologist, I am told to try to avoid having so many lows. Despite I have been practicing diabetic diet for many years, I have not yet been able to test and manage diabetes with a continuous blood glucose monitoring system.
Has anyone else tested one of these products? If you have, I’d love to hear how it is working for you. I am sometimes bothered that I am not able to get my hands on a potentially life saving technology, but I understand how careful these pharmaceutical companies must be. After Merck suffered mightily from the Vioxx debacle, I am not surprised that others are slow to release new equipment.
As soon as I can test one of these products, I am going to be writing about it frequently, and I hope that others will do the same.
